No other person or public official in Canada is in the public eye as often as our Prime Minister. No other person so dominates the debates that take place in the House of Commons. And no other person can play the symbolic role of leader of the country and head of government. Although the position of Prime Minister is not mentioned in the constitution, it has become an institution of government in its own right. Canadians have come to expect much from the person who is the Prime Minister.
